Every screw used on a Microtech knife is patented. A standard screwdriver or bit will not fit these exclusive screws. Over the years, there has been an increased demand for bits that customers can use to perform basic maintenance on their Microtech knives. We are now meeting this need.

Introducing the Microtech Tool Set — This bit set includes a 303 stainless steel hand holder and 8 interchangeable bits that cover a variety of Microtech knife models. The tool set includes bits for: Ultratechs (earlier and newer models), UTX-85s, UTX-70s (earlier and newer models), Troodons, Combat Troodons, Diracs, Dirac Deltas, LUDTs, and Sigils; also includes glass breaking bits for Ultratechs, Combat Troodons, and Dirac Deltas. Bits are sold as a set only, not individually.

When it comes to disassembling and maintaining your knife, keep in mind that while you can purchase replacement parts for the knives (subject to availability), part replacement must be performed at Microtech by their professional technicians.

It does require some force to remove the Red Loctite that Microtech uses on all of their screw holes, and it is important to note that the handle is made of aluminum. The frame of the knife can be disassembled, requiring replacement of the handle, which is not covered under warranty. We recommend caution in all disassembly efforts and recommend that customers who are unsure send the knife to Microtech and have them address any issues they may have.
