Description
Andre De Villiers Knives BATTLE CLEAVER-FLAME ANNO Titanium Handles.
The Battle Cleaver is the next evolution of Andre De Villiers’ mid-tech Butcher design, which has undergone many changes during its existence. At first it was just a custom piece, then it became a mid-tech, then a Tac, then a Classic model and so on. This Battle Cleaver is very similar to the Tac Butcher in terms of size, feel and weight…ie. everything but the shape of the blade. This one features a four-inch Bohler M390 curved chisel with a bloody groove, a duplex grind, and a two-tone finish. The handle is made of cool two-tone acid rain titanium with copper inserts on each side and copper swivel collars.
The pivot point is what sets this knife and all ADV blades apart. It has a recessed Torx screw that fits into the pin, allowing you to tighten the pin while adjusting the centering or overall smoothness of the action. This action is very smooth to say the least. The jimping on the fin tab is crisp and functional; nothing was really overlooked in this amazing design. Andre put in a large cut-out to make the knife easier to close and incorporated a replaceable locking bar insert that doubles as a overrun safety. The milled titanium pocket clip on the Battle Cleaver allows for excellent grip in thick trouser pockets and includes a roll ball design for easier draw. It might not be your typical knife, but pick it up and you’ll see.
