Description
Andre De Villiers HARPOON F17 Folding Knife BY GREEN.
The Harpoon F17 is a tactical knife from Andre De Villiers that might be his most sophisticated design to date. It has elements of the Butcher design that came before it, but the addition of a second finger groove and thumb ramp in the blade adds to stellar ergonomics, much like its Hummer counterpart. It’s smooth, fast, sharp, and stout—really everything one could want in a tactical blade, and easily engages in EDC, hunting, or survival tasks. The Harpoon F17 has a harpoon spear blade made of N690 stainless steel with a black stonewashed finish. The handle is made of stone-washed titanium with perfectly executed tensioning on the thumb ramp and backspacer.
The titanium lock has an integrated insert/flip lock mechanism that provides a firm lock while also being very easy to disengage. The action, riding on a caged journal bearing, is very smooth to say the least. Shifts on the redesigned fins and thumb ramp are sharp and functional, nothing has been overlooked for this amazing design. The Harpoon’s genuine double sided milled titanium pocket clip has been redesigned to allow for better retention in thick trouser pockets and features a roll ball design. It may not be your typical looking knife, but pick it up and you’ll definitely warm to the design with all the great features it has and the fact that the action is on par with the best flip designs in the industry.
