The aluminum handles have the left half of an ace of spades and crossbones with the Latin quote “Memento Mori” which is a reminder of morality originating from an Ancient Roman practice on the bronze apocalyptic standard tanto blade. During the victory parade, once Roman generals would return from battle, a slave would walk behind him muttering a version of this expression to remind him he was only a man and not to fall victim to haughtiness and delusions of grandeur. The Ultratech’s spring remains in an “at rest” position at all times except when deployed. This ensures that the compressed spring will not become fatigued, assuring users that when the knife is fired, it will operate effectively. The Ultratech’s lightweight, one handed open and close action, slim shape and scalpel sharp tanto blade makes it a one-of-a-kind knife, only available through Microtech.
