After the very successful Ansø 67 Mokuti that appeared in 2012 in a limited small series and sold out in a few days, with Thorne Mokuti (Design Jim Burke from Mississippi / USA) we would like to present to all collectors a new project that dives even deeper into “Mokuti”. Chad Nichols, also from Mississippi, with a stainless damascus that we have already used for some of our damascus knives, is one of the few blacksmiths to master the production of this damascus welded composite of two titanium alloys worldwide. In a very complex forging process, a material is created from two different titanium alloys, which is not only very exclusive, but also extremely durable. From this innovative and unique material, which is otherwise exclusively used in high-quality custom knives, Böker produces exclusively a complete frame knife in the series knife production at Böker Manufaktur Solingen. To increase the level of sophistication and exclusivity compared to the first Mokuti model, Thorn Mokuti offers a complete handle made of precious material. The back cover is also made of Mokuti and is designed as a titanium lock, just like the standard model. The sanitized clip provides extra emphasis on the back of the handle. As for the blade, to achieve the high level of this exclusive collector’s knife, we chose CPM S35-VN powder metallurgy for the blade steel, which sets new standards in terms of cutting edge retention and other properties. The finely ground blade is notable for its two-tone surface, which delivers a dynamic yet harmonious grind. This ensures that the intended exclusivity of this project is transferred from the handle to the blade. Only 199 knives are produced in two strictly limited series, one for Europe and one for the USA, each with a corresponding coded serial number. Comes with a certificate and in a high quality collector’s box.
