Description
Closing Knife CRKT Pilar IV 5321.
Where minimal design meets maximum utility. The Pilar IV transforms a minimalist sailor’s knife into a distinctly urban staple for everyday wear, while maintaining the spirit of classics and the epic story behind its name. It’s still low-profile and unobtrusive when tucked away, and carefully designed to beat its weight when in use.
Jesper Voxnaes designed the original Pilar at his Logstrup store in Denmark and named it after Ernest Hemingway’s beloved ship – a 38-foot vessel he used to track renegade German U-boats during World War II in Caribbean waters. The world-renowned author was also a World War I combat vet, big game hunter, sailor and fisherman, and would certainly choose an everyday knife companion like the Pilar III for his daily endeavors.
The substantial 3.09″ Pilar IV blade has a satin finish and a soft yet firm tip useful for more detailed tasks. The high-grip G10 handle benefits from years of use, and the eye-catching stainless steel lanyard loop elevates the look. The thumb slot opening mechanism deploys the blade, and the IKBS ball-bearing pivot system ensures super-smooth rotation.
The modern Hemingway is the ultimate renaissance man, and the Pilar IV is a knife that rises to the challenge.
