The Cold Steel SRK (Survival Rescue Knife) has been the flagship of our range for over 25 years. The knife of choice for many in the military, it remains the standard fixed blade for Navy SEALs in BUDS training to this day. When we asked custom knife maker Andrew Demek to develop a top-of-the-line tactical folding knife for military use, he took inspiration from our SRK! The SR1 features Andrew’s signature minimalist style, with no frills or frills, just a purely functional and practical design. The SR1 and the new SR1 Tanto are built for work. Both are made from premium American CPM-S35VN powder steel and are high-performance workhorses designed for the harshest and most unforgiving environments. A good blade needs a good handle, so the SR1 handle is made from premium G-10 with heat treated steel inserts. With a rough textured surface for a secure grip even in cold and wet conditions and expertly shaped for a comfortable and secure grip even with heavy gloves. For added reliability and peace of mind, we’ve equipped the SR1 with our Tri-Ad locking mechanism – time-proven to withstand the worst abuse, with unrivaled shock and impact resistance – making this knife the ideal choice for a survival survival blade.
