Description
Fixed Knife CRKT HZ6 2927.
Made for the modern warrior. Paying homage to the hira-zukuri – the classic Japanese straight sword – knifemaker James Williams brings us the HZ6. Original blade in the hira-zukuri style, dating from the 8th century. century, it was first popularized in daggers and used as a strong “short” sword for survival and everyday use. And like its origins, the HZ6 is purpose-built for true warriors, only now designed to meet the demands of the modern world.
The HZ6 honors the classic Japanese straight sword and is based on the ancient style of the hira-zukuri blade, which has no ridge lines. But the real power behind the smooth surface of this tactical knife’s blade is its ability to achieve impressively clean penetration through any surface it encounters. And because the blade is coated to reduce rust and corrosion, you’ll have less to worry about when wielding the blade in rougher or wetter weather.
And what’s in the name? The first two initials stand for “hira-zukuri” while the numeral “6” refers to the massive 6.5″ blade. Its size isn’t the only thing to worry about though – it’s made from tough SK-5 carbon steel, cutting and punching is second nature with the HZ6. Even the handle of the knife is Japanese influenced, the carved x on the handle represents the traditional wrapping of the sword. But it’s not just for aesthetic purposes – designed to provide tremendous grip for cold, wet, gloved or non-gloved hands; with each hit and hit the resistance increases. Combined with a well-fitting holster, use the holster clip to keep it extra close to your belt, or thread the lanyard through the hole at the base of the handle.
An excellent choice for combat or tactical defense, the HZ6 makes it easy to become a modern warrior.
