Description
Crossbow BARNETT WILDCAT C6 set 4×32.
The crossbow, or crossbow, is originally a historical weapon used mainly in the Middle Ages, either for hunting or for fighting. She excelled with her huge punch and long range. Today, legislation prohibits hunting with this weapon in most European countries. Today, the crossbow is mainly used for sports and recreational purposes. Modern crossbows, with the exception of children’s crossbows with suction cups, still remain weapons and are thus classified by the Arms and Ammunition Act. Their sale is free from the age of 18.
If the owner follows a few principles, the crossbow will serve as a source of outdoor entertainment for years:
- Treat the crossbow as a weapon – do not leave it loaded, do not aim at people and animals, even when unloaded for fun, and when shooting, make sure that no one moves in the shooting area (running children, dogs, etc.).
- An arrow from a crossbow has a long range, up to 1.5 km when shot into the air. Always shoot in a safe area (counterslope, catch net, …) and set aside a sufficiently long, clear and safe area for shooting.
- NEVER shoot the crossbow EMPTY – i.e. without an arrow. Missing arrow resistance leads to the destruction of the bowstring or bow.
- Use arrows of the correct length and weight. Lighter arrows lead to higher wear and tear and may even destroy the crossbow.
- Lubricate the crossbow string regularly with string grease to extend its life.
- Use a suitable landing pad for arrows. Upon impact, the arrow must be braked gradually, not all at once, on the other hand, it must be stopped completely by the landing. A suitable landing site, in addition to the commonly sold ones, are bales of straw, hobar pulled down by a wooden frame or a sufficient layer of old rags stuffed into a jute bag, etc.
