Description
Extrema Ratio RAO DESERT WARFARE Folding Knife
In June 2006, “185° Rgt. Ricognizione e Acquisizione Obiettivi” (Target Acquisition Regiment) Airborne “FOLGORE” (185° RAO) entrusted Extrema Ratio with the development of a unique knife that would suit the specific operational duties of the unit. The result is the RAO: a not-too-large component as a compact survival and field knife with a heavy and reliable blade. Its very reliable locking system, supported by a special safety device, effectively turns this folding knife into a solid knife. Opening and closing must be done with both hands to minimize the risk of self-harm, as the blade is a real guillotine due to its weight. An extremely safe device is a steel pin that can be manually screwed through two holes through the protective part of the solid anti-corrod aluminum handle – its presence between the blade and the hand also acts as a great psychological boon. The scabbard is an essential part of this weapon system: it contains a diamond sharpener and allows the user to carry the knife either in an open position, held in place by a lanyard and two buckles, or closed inside the front pocket. The sheath can be attached to tactical vests or regular belts because it is compatible with the MOLLE system. Available versions: RAO BLACK, RAO BLACK RUVIDO, RAO DESERT WARFARE.
