The Heretic Knives Manticore-S is the smallest of the Manticore Series of double action, out the front, automatic knives. The scaled down Manticore-S has the same countered, 3D machined, aircraft grade aluminum handle with traction scallops around the edge for a comfortable and secure grip in the hand. This version comes with a stonewashed, CPM S35VN Double Edge blade and Blue anodized handle.

Blade: The long Double Edge blade combines powerful cutting performance with an elegant slender look. High quality, American CPM-S35VN stainless steel blade was chosen for its balance of edge retention, corrosion resistance and edge toughness. The grinds have a heavy stonewashed finish that offers a rugged look and hides wear from use. It deploys via a dual action automatic mechanism for fast, smooth operation. Simply press the thumb slide up to open and then back down to close.

Handle: Milled, blue hard anodized aluminum offers just under 3.5 inches of handle, long enough for a solid grip with no excess real estate for ease of carry. Contoured handles have smooth chamfered edges paired with strategically placed scallops for a perfect blend of comfort and traction. The front and back of the handles are sterile with company, model and serial number markings on the spine. The handles are completed with titanium Torx hardware visible on the back, an integral lanyard hole and hardened steel glass breaker inset in the pommel.

Carries via a right hand, tip-down, stainless steel deep carry pocket clip.

CPM S35VN: was designed to offer improved toughness over CPM S30V. It is also easier to machine and polish than CPM S30V. The inclusion of Niobium allows for the formation of niobium carbides along with vanadium and chromium carbides. Substituting niobium carbides for some vanadium carbides makes CPM S35VN about 15-20% tougher than CPM S30V without any loss of wear resistance. CPM S35VN’s improved toughness gives it better resistance to edge chipping.
