Spyderco Tasman Salt 2 C106PBK2 Folding Knife

Hawkbills are uniquely functional cutting tools because they “catch” the material being cut, pulling it into a concave edge and producing strong, focused cutting power. The original Tasman Salt combined this aggressive cutting dynamics with the ultra-corrosion resistant properties of nitrogen-based H-1 steel to create a nearly perfect tool for cutting netting, line and other fibrous materials. The Tasman 2 takes another major step forward with an improved handle design based on the best-selling Delica 4. Injection molded from durable yellow or black FRN, the Tasman 2 grip features improved ergonomics, a non-slip Bi-Directional Texturing pattern and a four-position titanium pocket clip. Its handle is still home to a solid rear locking mechanism that securely locks the PlainEdge or SpyderEdge blade in use.

In early 2023, Spyderco announced a rolling change for its Salt series. Originally manufactured from H1 stainless steel, the Salt series is being upgraded to H2 stainless steel, which provides increased corrosion resistance. The original version of the H1 may still be supplied.
