Description
Spyderco TOMAHAWK GENZOW HATCHETHAWK.
Designed by German outdoor enthusiast and historian Martin Genzow, the Genzow HatchetHawk is a versatile, high-performance utility tomahawk that combines the best features of the traditional Francesca Frankish hatchet, the classic bearded ax and the tomahawk, and expresses them through a dynamic fusion of old-school craftsmanship and state-of-the-art materials and engineering.
The HatchetHawk head is die-forged from tough 5160 tool steel, carefully heat-treated to ensure optimal performance on all of its working surfaces, and hand-machined to exacting specifications while maintaining the slightly rustic character of the forging. Its bearded profile, raised tip and slightly beveled blade angle provide a long working edge that is ideal for both chopping and detail cutting. The hammer excels at tasks that require a concentrated strike instead of a sharp edge and helps create an exceptional balance that maximizes the tool’s performance.
The HatchetHawk handle is made of polypropylene plastic injected over a solid aluminum core and has an oval cross-section and a scientifically shaped shape that ensures maximum energy transfer and excellent control.
When not in use, the HatchetHawk and its owner are protected by a handcrafted heavy duty leather case with a snap leather strap. A loop on the back of the holster allows for convenient belt wear, while grommets in the body of the holster accept a lanyard or shoulder strap like a classic baldric.
