Fixed Knife Columbia River CRKT Bugsy Tactical 3605KV

Born in the jungle and made in the USA, the Fixed Blade Bugsy is the first CRKT knife from custom knifemaker and survivalist Kaila Cumings. With portability and comfort as primary design goals, the handle is as compact as possible without sacrificing ergonomics, and the included lanyard provides extra grip. Bugsy is named in part after Kaila’s first appearance in Discovery’s “Naked and Afraid,” which left her covered from head to toe in bug bites in the Colombian jungle. But there is also a more cheerful connection to the name: it is her daughter’s nickname.

Bugsy is a premium compact fixed blade available in two versions to meet the different needs of outdoor enthusiasts. Choose either a stonewash blade with a smooth edge, a Micarta handle, with a leather sheath; or a black Cerakote-coated blade with Veff serrations, matching black G10 grip and Kydex sheath.

Both models are made in the USA from 1095 carbon steel for strength and edge retention. The nearly 4-inch blade carries a large belly, making it suitable for hunting, with the Veff Serrations trading off some blade length for rope-cutting capability. With the main design goals of portability and comfort, the handle is as compact as possible without sacrificing ergonomics, and the included lanyard provides extra grip.

Growing up in rural New Hampshire, Kaila fell in love with the outdoors on the heels of her father taking her hunting, fishing and camping, which helped instill survival skills at a young age. This eventually led to a career as a knifeman and professional survivalist of sorts, appearing three times on Discovery’s “Naked and Afraid,” a show in which contestants fend for themselves in remote locations for 21 days and nights.
